The area of Capadoccia is located within :he provincial boundaries of Nevsehir. Presumably, the city was originally established as an acropolis castle upon a somewhat high hill in the south of the city. ~he name of the city in the Scythian/Khatti anguage is "Nenassa", meaning "the New Castle of the Mother Goddess." n fact, the castle city was called Mushkara during the Hittite era and Soanda subsequently. During the Ottoman era, on the other hand, it was called Nevsehir, meaning the new city. The Kursunlu Mosque Medrese and Adjacent Complex of Buildings ordered to be built by ibrahim Pasha in 1726 are other important works of art in the city. The district Hacibektas, located to the north of the provincial boundaries is the place founded by Hacibektasj Veli, of the Alperens of Yesevi, the famous theologian and thinker of Turks in Central Asia. Haci Bektasi Dergah (Seminary) and Kulliye (Adjacent Complex of Buildings) here consist of 23 sections and hosts the turbe of Haci Bektas. The most important saying of Haci Bektas, is "Hold your hand, back and tongue (Be discreet)."
